Victim Services Advocates: You Will Never Have to Fear or Grieve Alone
Michigan Sheriffs' Association - Sherrifs' Star
THANK YOU, FROM KAM BRADMAN OF BIO-CLEAN
Dear Friends,
For those of you in attendance at the MSA Victim Advocates training meeting, I want to express my sincere thanks for welcoming me with such warmth and kindness. Your friendships will be forever cherished and never taken for granted.
As I prepared to speak to all of you, I felt led to speak less of myself and my mission of service, and more about each of you. It's incredibly important for each of you to know that you have bestowed blessings of comfort, compassion, and kindness on the families you so faithfully serve day after day. Throughout the time I had with you, my hope was that I was able to encourage you, refresh you, enlighten you, and with a true heart, remind and show you how much you truly impact the lives of people suffering from intense emotional heartache. It gave me great joy to be able to share truthful examples of what I have personally heard about you from families I serve after you have left. As I stated on Saturday, there are hundreds of families all over our state that would not be where they are today if it weren't for you and your love. While I work in their homes, I hear many things, and the most common statements I hear about you folks are, "...I just don't know what I would have done if it weren't for the 'helpers' from the Sheriff's Department..." They're talking about you because you have, in some cases, rescued them in their darkest hour.
As you know, I gave away three Angel figurines from the Willow Tree collection for the team that traveled the furthest, the team that had the most years of service, and the newest team. I chose the Angels because I believed it was the most accurate reflection of your spirit of volunteer service.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your acts of compassionate service to families in need. Just as each of you, I too, will always be here for those in need.
Thank you again, and may your days be peaceful and blessed.
Kameron J. Bradman, President
Bio-Clean Team, Inc.
A HEART FULL OF FAITH
Kameron Bradman is more than a business owner. The 37-year-old Lansing husband, father, and Sunday school teacher started Bio-Clean Team Inc. nine years ago with nothing more than a great idea, a heart full of faith, and $42 from his savings account.
The company, which restores crime scenes where murders and suicides have taken place, fulfilled an unmet need in the community. As a criminal justice student at Lansing Community College and loss prevention manager for Meijer, Bradman wondered who sterilizes crime scenes after police investigations. He began asking officers from different departments and found that nobody knew. Bio-Clean was launched!
Before each job, Bradman and his crew pray for the family of the victim. Each year, the company does nearly 20 free jobs for grieving families who cannot afford to otherwise pay.
The 24-hour service has now grown to include seven employees and annual revenues of more than $100,000. By any measure, the company is a success. However, it is the way in which Bradman touches lives that makes him an exemplary person and so much more than a businessman.
